  JOB ANNOUNCEMENT                                                         

POSITION TITLE:    Long-Range Transportation Planner  

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES  

  • Proficiency in basic math skills and English grammar
  • Demonstrated abilities in use of spreadsheets, word processing and communications software as well as PC equipment
  • Written and verbal communications skills
  • Problem solving and time management skills
  • Ability to work well as a team member
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Working knowledge of regional planning concepts
  • Degree in urban planning or related field, and experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience is desired

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF ANTICIPATED DUTIES  

  • Assist in planning for and implementing a Future of Northwest Indiana Summit and related activities
  • Responsible for managing consultant contract for the Summit
  • Responsible for some long-term planning activities related to developing the Comprehensive Regional Plan
  • Assist with public involvement activities

ANTICIPATED POSITION CLASSIFICATION:     Full-time – Professional (B)  

SALARY / WAGE PARAMETERS:          Salary:  $32,148 – 36,167  (Depending on Qualifications)
