JOB ANNOUNCEMENT  

POSITION TITLE:    Environmental Planner  

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Proficiency in basic math skills and English grammar
• Demonstrated abilities in use of spreadsheets, word processing and communications software as well as PC equipment
• Written and verbal communications skills
• Problem solving and time management skills
• Ability to work well as a team member
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
• Working knowledge of regional planning concepts
• Degree in urban planning or related field, and experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience is desired

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF ANTICIPATED DUTIES  

• Develop regional tool for water supply and wastewater infrastructure planning
• Research innovative and efficient water conservation concepts
• Provide support and guidance to local decision makers in water infrastructure planning
• Prepare evaluation criteria for reviewing local water and sewer expansion plans
• Collect and map water and sewer infrastructure data
• Staff Regional Water Infrastructure Committee
• Plan and implement projects for MS4 (Stormwater) Community Partnership

ANTICIPATED POSITION CLASSIFICATION:     Full-time – Professional (B)  

SALARY / WAGE PARAMETERS:          Salary:  $32,148 – $34,559 (Depending on Qualifications)
