ENVIRONMENTAL INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY  

Internship Title: Environmental Planning Intern  

Organization: Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission (NIRPC) , the council of governments for a three-county region of 750,000 people, part of the Chicago Metropolitan Area.  

Reports To: Director of Environmental Management  

Job Description:  An internship will include work in some or all of the following areas:

a)     Assist staff in participating in Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day Gas Can Exchanges.

b)     Assist Educator to prepare children’s environmental education activities.

c)      Assist in preparing for teacher workshop

d)     Assist in preparing for Asthma Awareness Day Activities.

e)     Assist in data collection on public sewer and water supply systems in Northwest Indiana .
