JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

POSITION TITLE:    Transportation Systems Management Planner  

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES  

• Proficiency in basic math skills and English grammar
• Demonstrated abilities in use of spreadsheets, database management, geographic information systems, word processing and communications software & PC equipment
• Written and verbal communications skills
• Problem solving and time management skills
• Ability to work well as a team member
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
• Working knowledge of regional planning concepts
• Degree in urban planning or related field, and experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience is desired

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF ANTICIPATED DUTIES  

• Develop and maintain an operations-oriented planning and programming process that remains compliant and embedded in the transportation planning process
• Maintain the congestion management process and the regional Intelligent Transportation System Architecture, and update ITS database
• Establish transportation system management and travel demand management strategies

• Use crash data to identify locations where projects can access federal 
  safety funds 

ANTICIPATED POSITION CLASSIFICATION:     Full-time – Professional (B)  

SALARY / WAGE PARAMETERS:          Salary:  $32,148 – $34,559 (Depending on Qualifications)
