The recommended size of the garden can be figured based on its proximity to the house and the type of soil. When the garden is close to the house (though be sure to keep it at least 10 feet away), the garden needs to be larger. It is not recommended that the garden be closer or farther from the house. Pick a location which is appealing to you and which allows storm water to be easily directed to the garden.
