Air Quality

The Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission is dedicated to improving air quality in Northwest Indiana.  Provided below are links to programs supported by NIRPC, in addition to partner agencies for improving air quality in the region.

Here are some useful Air Quality sites.

AirNow- AirNow provides up to date air pollution data, ozone forecasting, and also gives information about public health and environmental effects of air pollution along with actions that you can take to reduce problems in air quality.

IDEM- The Indiana Department of Environmental Management hosts programs such as SmogWatch and a variety of other environmental programs. 

Wisconsin Partners for Clean Air -An offbranch of the US Department INDOT, FHWA, and the FTA's program "It All Adds Up to Cleaner Air."  Very detailed site with good solid information.

It All Adds Up to Cleaner Air- Official site for the collaborative campaign "It All Adds Up to Cleaner Air."  Offers simple steps and numerous resources to use in classrooms and businesses.
