Public Comments Sought for a Proposed Amendment of the
2040
Comprehensive Regional Plan
The Northwestern Indiana Regional
Planning Commission (NIRPC) is seeking public
comments on a proposed amendment of the 2040
Comprehensive Regional Plan. The amendment would
add the widening of the former Route 312 in Hammond
from the Illinois State Line to Calumet Avenue and
would accelerate the implementation of the Kennedy
Avenue widening project in Schererville. The
amendment and the associated Air Quality Conformity
Analysis can be viewed at the bottom of this page.
In conjunction with the amendment of the 2040
Comprehensive Regional Plan, NIRPC is also proposing
an amendment of the Fiscal Year 2012 to 2015
Transportation Improvement Program to include these
projects for funding. The public comment period
extends from November 1, 2011 to December 2, 2011.
